Douglas Gough

Douglas Owen Gough FRS is a British astronomer, and Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow at the University of Cambridge.[1] In 2010, he won the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society.[2]

Life

He studied at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge. He studied at JILA with John Cox and Carl Hansen, and at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies from 1967 to 1969, with Alar Toomre. He was director of the Institute of Theoretical Astronomy, from 1999 to 2004. He retired from the University of Cambridge in 2008. [3][4]
